About Charity Chicks

A Chewelah women's golf circle that chose to be different: play together, then give every penny back to town.

From the first tee to the food bank

What began as a way for local women to golf together grew into something bigger. Members decided Chewelah needed more than another league - it needed a charity that kept dollars close to home.

Today nearly 50 women gather through the season. Many bring $5 for charity each outing. When golf winds down, Bunco nights and a spring yard sale keep the giving going.

Our IRS determination letter confirms tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3), effective January 29, 2015. We file Form 990-N as a small public charity.

Milestones

A decade of fairways, yard sales, and quiet help for neighbors.

2015 - Official recognition

The IRS grants Charity Chicks of Chewelah 501(c)(3) public charity status. Contributions become tax-deductible.

Growing the circle

Women at Chewelah Golf & Country Club build a weekly rhythm of play and giving - food support, scholarships, and emergency neighbor aid.

Signature August tournament

The annual scramble becomes a community fixture, with side games, auctions, and raffles - sending event fundraising straight to the Chewelah Food Bank.

Students & snack packs

Scholarships for Jenkins seniors and weekly snack packs expand how we show up for Chewelah kids and families.

Why Chewelah

"Chewelah is not a real rich community, and there are a lot of people that are in need," members have shared publicly. Early on, helping a child reach the hospital set the tone: notice the need, then act.

We partner with the course we love, local schools, and the food bank - so support stays practical, local, and accountable.
